About Good Fences Counseling

Good Fences Counseling is dedicated to helping people become the person they choose to be through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the cultivation of healthy, values-based, well-communicated boundaries. We believe that when people learn to act from their values—rather than from fear, shame, or old patterns—they gain the freedom to build relationships and a life that feel steady, meaningful, and truly their own.

Our therapeutic philosophy is eclectic but focused, blending ACT’s flexibility, EFT’s emotional depth, and DBT’s practical tools. This integrative approach supports clients in understanding their internal experience, responding compassionately to difficult emotions, and taking clear, workable steps toward lasting change. We view boundaries not as barriers but as expressions of care which guide how you protect your energy, show up in relationships, and stay connected to what matters most.

We work with adults of any age and gender, offering a warm, steady, nonjudgmental space to explore what’s working and what needs to shift. Good Fences Counseling is distinct in its focus on values-driven action, meaningful behavior change, and a “do what works” mindset that replaces shame with clarity and choice.

If you’re ready to move toward healthier boundaries, stronger relationships, and a more values-aligned life, we’re here to walk that path with you.

Geoffrey works from a fundamental belief that all people are inherently good, worthy of love, and deserving of safe, supportive relationships with both themselves and others.

His therapeutic style is relational, inquisitive, and practical. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Geoffrey helps clients make meaningful, values-driven changes supported by compassion, honesty, acceptance, and accountability. Geoffrey maintains a steady, non-judgmental stance with every client—regardless of diagnosis, background, or the circumstances that bring them into therapy. His practice is grounded in the belief that people grow best in an environment where they feel safe, understood, and free from shame.

In practice since 2017, Geoffrey entered the counseling field after a previous career in molecular biology, driven by a desire to help others pursue change in a compassionate, respectful, and values-based way.
